Valley Traveland was founded in 1967 by Carlton and Era Vinger with sons Jack and Jerry. Jim Vinger, another son, joined the company in 1983 after retiring from the Air Force. Jim was the service manager for 20 years and retired in 2003 after many years of faithful service. Carlton and Era recently passed away leaving their imprint of honesty and "the customer comes first." Over the years, Valley Traveland has won numerous awards for outstanding service and sales. Only recently, being the #1 Chariot dealer in the nation. Service to the industry has also been important to Valley Traveland. Jerry Vinger has served in all executive positions with the Texas Recreational Vehicle Association and served as state president in 1996. Jerry and Jack are also very active in their respective churches, serving numerous board positions.

Jeanette Edgley, office and accounting manager, is the longest active employee, serving now for over 25 years. We value her years of service in keeping the business running smoothly.

Recently, Valley Traveland and Mission RV of Mission, Texas formed a merger. Joe Mohney, owner of Mission RV joined Valley Traveland as manager of the Alamo, Texas location. Alamo also has salesman Merlin Stratten.

Joe has also been a faithful servant to the RV industry, serving in all executive board positions of the Texas Recreational Vehicle Association and state president in the early 1990's. Joe and Merlin are real assets to Valley Traveland and also bring an additional line of Trophy park models now offered by the business.

Don (Smitty) Smith brings his expertise as service manager and Sam Hentzell is the manager for park model warranty and unit set-up. Service after the sale is most important to us. Harlingen also has salesman Mike Wiggins and Don Mullarky, who has been with Valley Traveland for over 15 years.
